This course will cover basic handbuilding and wheel throwing skills. Let’s discover what method is most suited to create the work that best pleases your aesthetic sensibility. Both wheel throwing and handbuilding demonstrations will be given. There will be one-on-one attention for those of you pursuing a more advanced agenda. This will be an engaging experience for beginning and beyond artists looking to work in ceramics.

This class focuses on demonstrations and one-on-one beginner instruction. Students learn to throw on the wheel to create beautiful pots for the table, kitchen, and garden.

Enjoy exploring handbuilding and sculpting with clay along with your child, grandchild, niece, nephew… you get the idea: Bring a child (or two) and come play with clay! First-timers are welcome! Ages 5 and up. Children must be accompanied by a parent or adult family member.

Learn the basics of toning the canvas, drawing a composition, mixing colors. Emphasis is on creativity and you are free to experiment and develop your own expressive style. Students may choose to paint with oil or acrylic on canvas. A materials list will be sent upon registration.

NEW! Abstract Painting for Beginners

What is abstraction and how do I get started? This six-week class is for adult beginners and will cover basic topics such as use of line, shape, texture and color, color mixing and composition. Just bring a pencil and paper to our first session to make notes and jot down ideas. We will also discuss materials you will need based on possibilities you are interested in.
