About Camp RoCA

Welcome to Arts Camp @ RoCA!

Arts Camp @ RoCA is a place for children to explore their creativity and imagination while developing lifelong skills. RoCA is a place for developing artists to learn various art forms on our spacious grounds and in professionally equipped studios.

Our camp features one of the region’s most comprehensive youth art programs. Under the guidance of professional teaching artists/educators and caring counselors, campers explore the arts in a supportive environment where creative expression, cooperation, personal development, and confidence are nurtured. RoCA campers are sure to feel a strong sense of accomplishment at the end of summer.

The campus invites children to be immersed in art in the 5-acre Catherine Konner Sculpture Park and in our fully equipped, air-conditioned art studios. RoCA’s large sparkling pool and open field provide plenty of healthy outdoor recreation. Our camp is proud to maintain a consistent 5:1 camper to counselor ratio for ages 5-9 and 7:1 for ages 10-14. Children are grouped by grade level.

Arts Camp @ RoCA is a place where memories are made and children forge lasting friendships with their peers and counselors. Each season campers learn to express themselves through both visual and performing arts.

Join us and see why Arts Camp @ RoCA is one of the area’s most sought after, unique, and praised day camps!

swimming

Campers enjoy recreational & instructional swimming daily, weather permitting, in our large, sparkling pool. Children learn safety, sportsmanship and swimming skills. The swimming program is under the supervision of a Water Safety Instructor who is a certified professional rescuer trained in CPR and first aid. Camp lifeguards are CPR/BLS certified. Our Medical Director is always on-site.

musical theater on mondays & fridays

Musical Theater is the focus of the Monday/Friday program. Campers perform songs, dances and short scenes from Broadway musicals. Working together, they create their own props, costumes and scenery, and then bring it all to life in an exciting performance at the end of each 2-week session.

Meet Our Camp Director: Dr. Antonia Gabeau (Edelstein)

Antonia has been a part of Rockland Center for the Arts for over 20 years. First starting out as a camper at the age of 6, and eventually moving up through the ranks as a counselor, she became the camp’s Assistant Director in 2015 and the Camp Director in 2021.

Antonia comes from a family of artists, including both her parents and younger brother (who you just might see at RoCA in Music class during the summer!). She will be marrying another artist, Marcus, in January 2026. During the school year, Antonia works as a School Psychologist in Clarkstown, at Strawtown Elementary School. She holds a Doctorate degree in School Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is an alumnus of CUNY Brooklyn and CUNY Hunter Colleges.

The Catherine Konner Sculpture Park

RoCA’s unique Catherine Konner Sculpture Park will be part of your child’s day camp experience. Offered only at RoCA, your child will learn to appreciate sculpture by contemporary artists and use the artwork as an inspiration for creative projects of their own.
