Jordan Galland is a New York City–based filmmaker, songwriter, playwright, actor, and longtime independent musician who has stubbornly refused to pick just one career. As a songwriter, he has collaborated with artists including Mark Ronson, Sean Lennon, Daniel Merriweather, Domino Kirke, and Zosia Mamet. He has written and directed four feature films, including Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Undead and Ava's Possessions, and has premiered his plays Orchid or Kid and One-Eighty on New York stages. After years fronting bands, making films, and collaborating with an eclectic cast of creative accomplices, Galland has returned to the intimate format of solo songwriting. His latest album, No Rockstars is a collection of funny, candid, and deeply personal songs about ambition, parenthood, romance, disappointment, and the strange freedom that comes from letting go of the fantasy of becoming a star.Segev Harosh is a Brooklyn-based guitarist, oud player and singer. Born in Israel to a Moroccan family, he grew up listening to rock, blues and Western music alongside Moroccan and Middle Eastern music at home. He has been playing for more than two decades and has spent the past 16 years in New York, working and performing with musicians from a wide range of backgrounds.Segev co-founded Yallah Yallah, where he plays guitar, oud and sings over drum machines and live percussion. He is also a member of Shay Wetszer’s band and performs regularly with other artists and projects in New York and around the country.He has performed at Lincoln Center and festivals across the U.S., worked on productions with artists including Lauryn Hill, and spent years working with and recording American blues musicians. His engineering work with Joe Louis Walker earned a Grammy nomination.His own musical style draws from all these different influences.Peter Manheim is a drummer, percussionist, and composer from Evanston, Illinois. In 2012, he completed his bachelors degree in music at Oberlin Conservatory, where he studied with Billy Hart and Jamey Haddad. Upon completing school, Peter moved to Brazil, where he spent six months traveling, performing, and studying Brazilian drums and percussion. After a few years living and working in Chicago, Peter relocating to Brooklyn, where he has lived ever since. He performs regularly in the NYC area as well as nationally and internationally with a variety of bands. His debut EP, In Time, was released in 2023 on Northern Spy Records and was followed up in 2025 by a full length record, Early Waves.Aida ZilelianAida Zilelian is a first-generation American-Armenian writer, educator and public speaker, storyteller. She is the author of novels The Legacy of Lost Things and All the Ways We Lied. Aida has told stories across the country, on PBS’ televised Stories from the Stage, Confabulations, Suitcase Stories and other storytelling platforms. Aida’s debut poetry chapbook Dissonance won the Swan Scythe contest in 2025, which was recently featured in Markaz Review. Her first TEDx talk released this spring.Leah Kogen ElimeliahLeah Kogen-Elimeliah is a Moscow-born, New York–based poet, writer, filmmaker, educator, and curator. She is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of literature and creative writing at The City College of New York and is the founder and director of the WordShedNYC Salon & WordShed Productions. Her interdisciplinary work moves between poetry, performance, visual art, and film, exploring themes of identity, language, immigration, sexuality, and cultural memory. She has collaborated with independent artists across disciplines, developing cross-genre, multimedia projects that merge text, image, and movement. Her work has been presented at venues including La MaMa Experimental Theatre, Howl! Arts, Creative Time’s Red Stage, The New York City Poetry Festival, The Higher Ground Arts Festival, LatchKey Gallery, The Trops, and ROCA, among others. She is completing her poetry collection What to Pack in a Suitcase, curated a group art exhibition Notes from Daughters, Fall 2026, and finalized an experimental documentary feature film, Good Girl.David GroffDavid Groff is the author of three books of poems: Live in Suspense, Clay, and Theory of Devolution. With Philip Clark, he edited Persistent Voices: Poetry by Writers Lost to AIDS; with Jim Elledge, he edited Who’s Yer Daddy?: Gay Writers Celebrate Their Mentors and Forerunners. He teaches poetry, nonfiction, and publishing in the MFA creative writing program at the City College of New York. www.davidgroff.comPina RussellInterdisciplinary artist, author, and cultural worker Stephanie JT Russell's most recent book is nothing personal, a haiku and photography pamphlet. Her creative nonfiction book, One Flash of Lightning, is a poetic treatment of the classical Samurai Code (Andrews McMeel). She is anthologized in books and journals such as Words Upon the Water (Juke Box Press), The Winter Anthology, Peregrine, The Arlington Review, A Room of Her Own, and is forthcoming in Stone Canoe. Russell’s work has been featured at noted venues, including The Griffin Museum of Photography, The New Museum, The Albright Knox, WOW, and The Berkeley Museum. A visiting artist and guest lecturer at cultural spaces such as NYU, Vassar College, and the Franklin D Roosevelt Presidential Library and Home, at the invitation of the West Africa Network for Peacebuilding, Russell designed and taught a collective playwriting and theater-craft program in post-conflict Liberia, and organized a restorative curriculum conference for and with Liberian educators. As Dutchess County Poet Laureate 2023-25, Russell curated Stream of Life, a series of 22 intercultural readings. She is recipient of the 2022 Overall Winner award from The Wirral Poetry Festival Competition, UK, and the 2024 Jinquinteng Poetry Festival, Bangkok. Using contemporary dance, physical theatre, and storytelling grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Rawls explores the parts of ourselves we've been told to silence.
Each dancer embodies a "part" of the same person—The Protector, The Exile, The Performer—revealing what it means to survive, to split, and to heal.
Rooted in the psychology of double consciousness and Afro-surrealism, this show is raw, intimate, and urgent. It's not just a performance—it's a reckoning.

What is Emotions Physical Theatre?
Emotions Physical Theatre (EPT) presents a multifaceted approach to live performances, integrating diverse artistic disciplines such as music, visual arts, dance, and theater to construct a unified narrative-driven milieu. Drawing from one of three primary foundations—circus, contemporary dance (or dance theater), and noh—the genre embodies a synthesis of movement, emotion, and narrative exploration. At EPT, our framework predominantly aligns with dance theater. A defining characteristic of physical theatre is its active engagement with the audience, often achieved through techniques like breaking the fourth wall, immersive experiences, interactive elements, or collaborative ventures, thereby fostering an immersive and indelible theatrical encounter.

Included in the evening will be poems by the first published Black Poet Phyllis Wheatley (1773) to Amanda Gorman (2017). With literary works by WEB DuBois, Langston Hughes, Countee Cullen, Zora Neale Hurston, James Baldwin, Maya Angelou, Gwendolyn Bennett, Toni Morrison, and Alice Walker among others.
