SUMMER: Let’s Throw a Pot (ages 9-13)

A workshop focusing on the basics of wheel throwing.  Various aspects of clay properties, glazing and design are explored. For beginning and intermediate students. Some handbuilding techniques are also introduced.  Materials and firing fees included.

NEW! Introduction to Animation (ages 10-14)

The animation course for children offers a comprehensive curriculum that covers the fundamentals of animation, including principles of movement, character design, and storyboards. They will start by creating simple flip books and progress to more complex projects, such as creating their own animated short films or designing characters and animating them using traditional techniques. With hands-on projects and guided instruction, students will learn how to bring their imaginations to life, create their own animated characters, and develop storytelling skills. By the end of the course, they will have a solid foundation in animation and be able to create their own animated short film.

NEW! Learn to Draw (ages 8–11)

Did you know, that when we activate the right side of the brain and quiet the left side, it enhances the ability to see and draw what is seen? Children will create drawing using exercises and techniques inspired by this principle and the work of Betty Edwards. Children will be given all the materials necessary. Each class will explore new methods as well as build on previous ones.

SUMMER: Anime/Manga (All levels—Ages 8-13)

Students will learn to illustrate in this worldwide popular style of cartooning. "Manga" means comics in Japanese and "Anime" is short for Japanese animation. They will look at popular characters for inspiration and then create their own. Materials needed: pencil, fine point black sharpie, eraser, paper, color pencils, and markers.
