Capturing Cloudbursts (int.-adv.)

Paint the drama of wind and weather over land and sea.

Sunny days and cloudless skies are perfect for picnics but for painters wanting to explore color, movement, and drama….look to the skies. Tidal waves of clouds throw down their energy and light on the waiting earth and sea. The forgiving nature of cloud formations allow the artist to achieve maximum drama with a minimum of detail.

This workshop will introduce painters both contemporary and classic as inspiration. We’ll work with a limited palette of oils on a variety of surfaces.

This is a 6 weeks course—some prior painting experience will be helpful for the student. A materials list will be sent upon registration.
