When Meredith Bergmann’s Women’s Rights Pioneers Monument is unveiled on August 26, 2020, it will be the first sculpture of real women in Central Park and, in essence, will break what has been called the park’s bronze gender barrier. The sculpture features Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, and Sojourner Truth. This panel discussion explores the process of conceiving, advocating, and fundraising for the creation of the Women’s Rights Pioneers Monument.
