You will learn a step by step method of painting a simple still life using big brushes, lots of paint, working in a bold, expressive manner. You will quickly see that "it's not about WHAT you paint, it's about HOW you paint it." The most common everyday objects can become a work of art, when you paint them according to this method. The focus will be on capturing the large shapes and lighting effect rather than rendering small details. Students will be encouraged to work quickly and decisively with as few brush strokes as possible. All will be prompted to use color intuitively and boldly.
