Children experiment with various media as they create imaginative projects. Drawing, painting, printmaking, collage and 3-D constructions will be explored. The emphasis is on creativity and fun while children learn basic art concepts.

In this mixed-media class, students will create imaginative worlds inspired by folk tales, natural wonders, myths and more!! Projects may include dioramas, fantasy landscapes, collage, clay figures, and shadow boxes.

NEW | Painting and Drawing Explorations | Ages 5 to 7

Students will be encouraged to paint and draw from the world around them, and from their imagination. Principles of color, line, form and composition will be taught using a variety of art materials (colored pencils, markers, paint, oil pastels, and collage) and techniques. Make your cartoons come to life. Create exciting super heroes, action figures and story ideas for your own comic strip. You will learn from a pro how to draw dynamic facial expressions and figures-in-action sequences. Just bring your ideas and see how quickly you will develop your own unique style.

Painting and Drawing | Ages 8 to 11

Students are introduced to a variety of art materials and techniques suited to their age and experience. Principles of color, line, form and composition are taught, as well as the use of charcoal, tempera, watercolor paints and mixed media. Creativity is stressed in a relaxed informal atmosphere. Ceramics | Ages 5 to 7

Students will create clay sculptures using fundamental shapes and from them learn to make anything they imagine. This class will explore the mythical, magical and often zany world of creatures and characters. We will be making figures inspired by both stories and imagination. Clay construction and glazing will be covered in this class.

Travel to faraway lands through art. Children explore various media as they create craft projects from other countries.
