NEW | Glass Fusing | Artglass Platters
F143 1 session Tues. Sept. 21 6:00-9:30pm
This is a hands on introductory class to the fusing process, with no prior experience needed. You have seen beautiful glass platters in galleries, now design your own! We will briefly discuss the types of glass used in fusing and the workings of kilns. You will then create your own unique glass to be fused into a sheet. The studio will slump your glass into a one of a kind platter. Class fee includes a glass allowance, the use of our tools, glass mold, and the 18 hours of firing time. Come prepared to have a good time. Since it is taught at the Colored Window, Art Glass Studio, Nanuet, known for their stained glass work, in conjunction with RoCA, seating is limited to 4 students. Location for workshop: Colored Window, Art Glass Studio, Nanuet.

NEW | Fused Glass Jewelry

Students will learn the special techniques needed to design and create a dichroic jewelry pendant without the need for premade mounted findings. Channel mounting is an elegant way to set glass jewelry to embrace and enhance its beauty. We will make sterling mounted fused glass pendant, but the same techniques can be applied to earrings. The first pendant’s materials, use of tools, and kiln firing is included in the class fee. Students will want to make more so we will give you a 10% discount on material to make up to 6 pieces of jewelry in the class and include the kiln firing free! After you have taken this class you will be ready for more techniques, taught at our studio. This workshop will meet at the Colored Window Art Glass Studio in Nanuet. This workshop is limited to 5 students.

NEW | Fused Glass Jewelry: Notched and drilled pendants-chan mount req
F158 2 sessions Tues. Nov. 9 and 16 9:30am – 12:30pm
With this fused pendant class we get an opportunity to combine the techniques learned in the basic fused jewelry class, Channel Mounting, which is a requisite. In this session we will add a new flourish ,visual interest and the results are sophisticated. After the design learn how to notch the glass. It will be kiln fired and in the following session we will learn to drill the glass and use a different channel wrap of sterling silver wire adding beads. A more delicate handling is needed, but the results are fabulous. Materials for class included. Be prepared for orders for the holidays. This workshop will meet at the Colored Window Art Glass Studio in Nanuet. This workshop is limited to 5 students.

Making Silver Jewelry
F91 6 sessions starting Tues. Nov. 2 6:30-9:30pm
Always wanted to learn silver jewelry making? Students in this class will be introduced to the basics of fine silver jewelry construction. Included in this class: soldering with small butane torches, as well as bezel making and stone setting. Projects include: bezel rings, earrings or pendants. For both beginners and students with basic skills, this class is held in a professional jewelry studio. Location: Craftcast Studio, South Nyack, NY.

Lamp worked Glass Beads
F66 12 sessions starting Wed. Sept. 15 10:00am-1:00pm
Learn the Venetian art of glass bead making. Create unique beads by melting glass rods with an oxygen/propane torch. Learn to shape the glass, create rough “frit encrusted” beads that look ancient and incorporate silver foil or flower decorations to personalize beads. Enrollment limited to 8.
