In this workshop, students will learn various techniques to make faux rocks, turquoise and opals using metals to color the glass. The use of reduction glass will also be discussed. Instructor will be available for other instruction. Students must have basic lampworking skills.

From traditional painting to contemporary styles or mixed media, acrylics are infinitely versatile. Learn how they can be used like watercolor for gorgeous stains or like oil paints without the messy cleanup. Get key information on controlling drying time; and see how gels can be used to extend paints, make them glossy or matte or create unique textural surfaces. If you have only worked on traditional surfaces like canvas, masonite and paper, you will discover that painting on exotic new surfaces takes your paintings to an entirely new place. Participants will: Learn how acrylics can be used as grounds for other media, such as oil, watercolor, pastel or colored pencil; get key information on color mixing for brilliant hues , blending and controlling drying time; see how gels can be used to modify paint properties or creat unique textural surfaces. From traditional to contemporary to mixed media, acrylics are infinitely versatile. Artists of all levels will come away from this lecture demo with fresh new insights to feed their creative expression....
