Casting Lydia by Don
Monaco When a young actress is cast in the title role in a play that gives her no lines to speak, what does she do? Why does the author/director need her so desperately, and the actors - the ones with lines - hate her so much? In this comedy of stage manners and the personality traps we dig ourselves, characters find a way to grow and thrive. |

Women by Staci Swedeen Gerty Cori, was the first American woman to win the Nobel Prize in Science. Originally commissioned by Ensemble Studio Theatre and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the play combines comedy, drama, love and science to challenge the stereotype that women are incapable of being tough, rigorous and rational - all hallmarks of good science. |
