Moving Toward Abstraction (all levels)

This class is for all levels and all media. Learn how to add a dynamic quality to your paintings with the understanding of abstraction. Examine the composition of your own work by breaking down the images to the most abstract elements. Understand plasticity, push and pull, and how color can work for you. A still life will be provided or work from your imagination, sketchbook or photo. We will also view and discuss many of the artists in history who have left glorious examples of for us to study and enjoy. Materials - Bring the material you are most comfortable working in, all materials welcome. We will also discuss how to get the most out of your materials with information about oils, watercolors, acrylics, collage, and pencils.
