FREE GEL PLATE PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP
Instructor: John Rosis
Join WestchesterArts grantee, artist/Rockland Center for the Arts Instructor John Rosis for this free workshop at Rockland Center for the Arts. Participants will learn the basics of printmaking using a gel plate to create finished prints, greeting cards, bookmarks, decorative paper for collage and more using quick drying water-based acrylic paint.
Demonstrations will include monoprinting techniques using paper stencils made in the workshop, string, thread, rubber bands and other materials in this ‘make and take’ workshop. We will also use natural materials such as leaves, ferns, grasses and vines as masks and textures. All materials will be provided and no prior experience is necessary, just an interest in discovering this unique, fun and easy way to make prints with minimal set up time.
Capacity is limited to ten participants for this workshop. Participants should arrive on or before start time as instruction is provided at the beginning of the workshop. All are welcome ages 16 and up.
Please wear appropriate clothing and/or an apron for using paints.
