Jacqueline Shatz Bio

The exhibition will feature Shatz's landscape based ceramic wall sculpture that are a unique combination between sculpture and painting. Her work achieves an intriguing interaction between abstraction and recognizable landscape elements by using layers of paint and transparent collage. "The structure is doubly removed from nature by the process of extracting compositional fragments from historical landscape still-life and by transforming a two-dimensional depiction into a three-dimensional object," says Shatz.
