The Rockland Center for the ARTS
invites you to an exhibit of current work
by the foremost African-American artists.

In this powerful exhibition, public issues of gender and race mix with the individual visions of over thirty of the foremost African-American artists. Art is limited to work of the last decade, but not the length of experience of the artist. This results in acclaimed names such as Robert Colescott, Benny Andrews and Richard Mayhew sharing the walls with aspiring new talent including Brett Cook-Dizney and Elia Alba - a way of defying the generation gap and preconceptions related to age. Artwork is in an array of media interacting in unexpected and innovative ways.

Opening Reception:January 9, 2000 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Exhibition continues to February 27,2000

Gallery Hours: Weekdays 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Weekends 1:00 to 4:00 PM Closed Holidays
